Quick question regarding rad/reserve

For some reason, I fill up the reserve, and it's smiles all around. After running it a while it'll be fine, but I'll run it the next day and it'll flash me a warning saying I need water. I fill up the reserve again ('cause I check the radiator and it's full) and it's all farts and rainbows again. Anyone know why? I checked the hoses and they leak a bit, but they're tightened completely... Anyone mind sharing your wisdom?

I go, but my dad wants to be all supportive so he just makes me walk around while he does all the stuff
It's annoying, but this is my first car so I get why he's trying to help
It just makes me feel like a kid, you know?

some ppl like snw are building airplanes at 11 yrs old and engine swaps before they get there license. iv been around mechanical stuff all my life. first thing is first bro. and the first thing is tackling lil projects head on , f ing it up then having your dad help u fix it. or if your snw you get ur fingers chopped off by the prop trying to start ur rc airplane

also if the hoses are leaking at the clamps, (not holes in them) try taking them off and cleaning the inside of hose real good with a rag. miht by u some time <maybe>

If the hoses are in good condition. Meaning that they are flexible, and not cracked, with the clamp not ripping through the hose. You might have wear on the metal pipe fittings that the hoses clamp too. Happens on these old cars.

There is nothing wrong with doing engine swaps before having a learners permit, and building/designing R/C airplanes at age 11. Holy crap, I thought you were talking about me. hahaha

Thought I was the only nerd building R/C planes when I was a kid. haha

Just start with what you know. Ask a ton of questions, and have some tough skin. You are likely to get flak from people around here that don't remember what it was like to be ignorant. After all. We are dealing with cars that are often 30+ years old, and when you do; you get used to wrenching.

Good luck with your Z.
Take care of her.
Not only is she a lady. But, she is your elder.

lol im only 16!!!!!!!!!!

they will have a replacement upper or lower at any auto store(it might take a few days)

and dont tighten those hoses too much.... they might EXPLODE!!! or just get cut by the clamp....

bigest thing if bought from an auto store is radiator and a icu... dont feel bad

My first engine build and swap was in a '67 Corvair with the flat 6. I was 14. I did a lot of the work, but it was all under the supervision of my dads friend.

Well I replaced all the clamps I could find, they were all rusty looking and a few were loose as hell. Got some new ones, replaced one hose that was cracking, and everything seems to be fine now.

I replaced the thermostat and little gasket thing, but I'm gonna send it to a shop and they said I can watch while they wrench on it, so I hope I learn some.
