I'd like to know if these tail lights could fit on a 1983 280zx 2+2 ?

 

Anything can fit anything, with fabrication work. Bolt in, no.

But would you be able to say if it would require a lot of cutting ? I don't want anyone to make a mess of the car

 

If you look at the 280zx tail lights, its one big open space. You could maybe fab up a plate that goes over these tail lights, and bolts into where the 280zx ones were. Not sure on the measurement, but some cutting could be involved. That or get a whole rear panel off of a 280z and just slap it in. Either way, fab work.
