Cool This is pretty sick for an RB25 swap

Check this out. For anybody looking to do a RB25 conversion in your Z. This is a pretty good deal. I would never do it, but it is kind of cool. Check it out.

Yeah, if you were in the Tampa area and decided to do a motor swap.

I guess if you had 8,500 and a chassis laying around...

Kinda wish I did =(

although its really easy to but an rb 25 into a s130. it bolts right in, just need to modify the tranny mount, and wire. the drive shaft doesnt even change.

for 8500 they should just give you the car with it in those pictures!

The 25 isn't worth nearly as much as the 26 setup. I can't believe its $8500 "installed"
There is no custom work since its coming right out of an S30. Two guys could do that in a Saturday.

What does an Rb25DET cost these days by itself... $2400?

Looks to me like the auction is mis-titled. All the info & work included in the description is for a 240/260/280z. For an S30, it looks like a fair deal to me - It's not just all parts that nickel & dime you to death in a swap like this - but fabrication & labor is included. So unless you'd done a bunch of these before or got REAL lucky on sourcing parts, I think you'd be hard pressed to do yourself for any less.

Rb25det

Hey guys im new to the postings so i hope im doing this right this is probably one of the worst deals out there RB's are going for about 1200 for RB25 full swap transmission turbo and full wireing harness included. And mckinney autoworks makes all the mounts to have the whole kit bolt right in for about 1000 so if your not much of a novice and not scared just do it your self. you can save a whole lot of money. besides i can get you a full r32 and 33 skyline for just as much, yes the whole entire car running in great condition.

Well I thought it was kind of cool. I didn't really know if it was a sure good deal or not. But judging by everybody's reactions. It seems to not be a good deal. I just thought I would share it anyway. And I found the auction under 280zx. While I was perusing, looking for parts.

I think i added it up once, full engine trans harness and the mounts with driveshaft and IC and exhaust form Mckinney was around 4k I wanna say... But I believe you also need to modify the oil pan and sump. Plus the wiring which didn't seem to be all that bad. I'd honestly go RB30 or 26 for an extra grand, may not be a huge jump in displacement but a much well built motor, mostly in the head design if i remember correctly. I'm still considering selling the S2000 to do an S30 RB26 build... but damn do I love the S2000...

Well...at least by starting this thread. I helped to expose somebody, that treats people unfairly. Hopefully other people, will see this thread. That look at that auction. And not be taken, like other people have.

I drove my bosses new titan pickup today with the 5.7l. That thing is fast. If guys are putting Chevy 350 which are 5.7l motors in these cars; I wonder how hard it would be to put the Nissan 5.7 in a 280xz.

Hey, that is one of my ideas. lol I have been thinking about that swap for a few years now. I am sure it would be possible. It is a V8 after all.

The VH and VK are completely different motors (VK is supposedly based off of the VQ)

And what is a VK57?

So by your logic the VK, Ford Coyote, and 1UZ "aren't that different?"

Dude, most current V engines by nissan right now share quite a bit in common. I don't know why you would even bring up an example of engines from other companies that have no association to this. Go home.

The VH and VK are completely different castings butthurt bro, same way a Ford V8 and Nissan V8 are different castings.
