i've been looking for aero kits for my zx and i have noticed that all the kits for my year have the exhuast exiting the right of the car. but mine exits the left like a turbo. underneath there is no signs that it was modified and there is no bracketry or anything that sugests that it might have had it exiting the right at one time. whats the deal?
my zx is a 81 model year. maybe its a us/canada issue? i havent a clue. can i just use the 82-83 stuff?

 

Just get a turbo rear piece, My 81 has the exhaust coming out the drivers side however it has the round cut out on the passenger side where the exhaust came out factory.

 

you can also just fill in the hole where the exhause cone out of on the right hand side and cut an opening just big enough for your exhauset tip to come out of... it looks a lot cleaner that way... thats what i did

 

If it was an 81, then maybe it had a turbo exhaust put on.
BTW, your avitar with the red Z is an 82-83 style bumper. Are you sure you don't have a 1982 car built in late 81?

When you order the body kit, just ask for the 82-83 style with the exhaust exit on the right side.

 

ok, so i just checked the car and it was made in december of 81. so it is a 82 body style. thanks. i never thought of that.

Did anyone else notice my mistake in the last post?
The 82-83 rear bumper should have the exhaust exit on the left side, not the right side. Unless you interpret my sentence to say, the exhaust exit on the "correct" side.

Your car is not just an 82 body style, your car is a 1982 car. Don't you have the title? It should say on there what year it is titled as. 1982 is the best year!
