Better a lil more than a lil less! But how much is a lil bit too much? Way too much can cause foaming or something and cause oiling problems. but you should be alright!

That may be a little too much. I'd loosen the drain plug just enough to let the oil drizzle out. Make sure you put the drained oil in a clean continer, 'cause if you remove too much...you can always put some back in without buying a new quart.

i think half a quart isnt too bad... you can get away with it... but if you want to take a half a quart out... you can take out your oil filter and drain it... theres bout a half a quart in there....

Well....The type of oil depends on your climate, driving habits, and many other varibles (or, however you spell it...). I've been using Valvoline 10W-30 for years and I love it.
