Odd sound from rear of car, need help!
Hello, everyone! I'm a new owner of a 1981 280zx 5spd and would love to make a proper introduction to myself, but I need help with something first.
I was driving home today when all of a sudden I hear a loud, alarm like sound coming from the rear-left side of my car. I proceeded to pull over, and once the car was turned off the sound disappeared with it. When the car was turned back on, the sound did not return and I continued to drive home.
I know the mechanic had told me I need to fix the rear shocks soon (I'll be getting paid this friday, so will most likely be able to fix them some time soon), but was just wondering if this had anything to do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to uploading pictures of my car tomorrow!

Could be an old alarm that went off and the speaker is under the car?? Could have been the muffler dragging on the ground. Kinda makes an alarm type noise?? Or the exhaust banging on something. I dunno keep driving and see what happens or what breaks

So after some driving (as suggested xP) the sound came up again and it sounded like it was coming from the small compartment on that side, so I just removed that whole panel thing that covers it, put it back how it was, and it went away. Very odd....
