And just an FYI: It's a 280ZX. The 280Z is a different model / car. :D

see my thing is i wanted to do something modern... something that people really haven't done that much... something that would be a pain in the ass but worth it in the end...

There isn't really anything worth while that hasn't been done already. Stick with a 6 IMHO. 2JZ is probably the most capable with a stock bottom end. The VQ35DE or VQ35HR is a good choice as well. If you don't know anything about the wiring - good luck. Stick with the L28ET - there are some sick cars out there with the L28ET in them....

I did a quick search and it didnt look like anyone has done a new BMW straight-6 engine swap (Not entirely sure though). Would be interesting to see an N53, N54, or N55 in one though.

Ron swaped one into his S30 - it's a tight fit.

rt260, BMW M Powered - HybridZ

its a S52 from a E36 M3.. thats not a cheap or easy swap to do.. i have that engine in my M3 and sometimes wish i had that motor and drive train in my Z but theres no way i would even try to do that swap...

^^^ Tuning would be a blast though.

< Not to get too far off topic > Ice, do you have Carsoft / INPA / DIS / GT1 ? I bought the Carsoft serial cable for my '00 E39 528i and have used v6.5 to check codes and reprogram a new air bag module. I just got INPA and am starting to mess with it. Eventually I'd like to use NCSExpert so I can code the car to my liking. :D
