Hello, We just found a like new 83 280zx that has been sitting for a few yrs. The body and interior are in great condition, since it only has 65K mile on it. The engine is another story.

It does not run. I need a ECU that will work with a 83 N/A 5 speed. And the fuel relay #1 is bad too. I have a 12 volt relay I can use but when we opened the ECU it was for sure fried even one of the transistors was blown apart.

Does anyone know if ECU's from other yrs will work? Or should we use them even if they do?

Also I need a clutch master cylinder our clutch pedal just goes to the floor and stays there...lol

Oh anyone have wiring diagram? I have a 1979 FSM but it's different.

You can use any 280zx relay in place of the burnt relay... they are the same basic relay throughout the car.

As for the ECU, any 82-83 n/a should work.

 

More than likely, your slave cylinder is bad. And or you need to bleed your clutch system. It is actually rare that the clutch masters go out. Not too long ago, I had to replace mine. But only cause it was leaking on my driver's side floor. lol

Oh, NismoPick...What if the Z is an '83 digital? Would that make much of a difference with the ECU? Are the digitals and analog ECU's different or the same? Just a thought.
