My 81 ZX n/a

Hey guys/girls, New member here.
From the great state of Texas. Houston area.
Wanted to show my 81. My dad bought it new back in the day. Gave it to me in the early 90's has been sitting a while and I finally started the restore.
Just repainted it - now screwing parts back together ... need advice on restoring interior....

Spending too much on it as expected but hey, its a labor of love, right?

Welcome to the club! Looks like a nice solid car

Luckily interior parts are still fairly plentiful. You can do the carpet yourself - it's pretty easy.

So far I have replaced all bushings, suspension (Tokico blue springs/shocks) refinished stock rims, freshen up the brakes with new pads and r/r fluid and new tires. It has 101K miles on her. She needs to have the A/C compressor replaced - can't decide if I should do the 134r conversion or stick with r12. I need to sort out a electrical issue with the water temp gauge and clock, also the cooling fan for injectors does seem to work (maybe related to the water temp sensor?) I have tested fan operation and it does work - but has not come on at operating temp for some time. I used to hear it everytime I killed the motor but no more.

Have new carpet kit and have ordered door skins/seat covers and headliner kit. Waiting for those to try and match the color on the other interior parts that need painting.

Anyway, this site is a great resource.

The fun was trying to get the 30 year old bushings out! Be patent and take your time.
