Has anyone added a BOV to a stock intake??

That doesn't really make sense... the bov doesn't go on the intake manifold if that's what you mean. It goes on the tubing after the turbo, and before the intake manifold. But yes, you can install one on the stock j-pipe. I've done it. Here's a pic:

Sorry I misworded it that is what i meant! Also, could I remove the emergency release valve if I installed a BOV?

The emergency release valve's function is different than the bov. The ERV's job is to open when the boost rises above the set limit of ~6.5 to 7psi, regulating the boost if the wastegate were to fail. The BOV's job is to release the compressed air surge when you let off the throttle right after boosting.

To answer your question... You leave the ERV alone unless you are going to increase the boost. It will then either need to be removed or modified.

Factory Silvia(?) BOV from an SR20DET clip. Free cuz my buddy feels sorry for me!



mine recirculates and I can't hear it at all but I know it works. I also crushed the top to increase spring pressure. I think the L28 has more vaccum than an SR for some reason.
