Installing Tokico HP Shocks & Spring

Guys.

I am planning to install Tokico HP Shocks & Spring on my 83ZXT. Also I am planning to upgrade to 17x7 wheels. I understand after I install the new struts and springs, the car will be lowered by about an inch. My question: Can I install 225/45/tires with this struts and Springs without rubbing tires inside the car with the fendors.

Thanks
Noor.

thats exactly what i did with my car... ive got the same set up and the same tire size that your planning on going with... and it fits perfect.. jsut as long as youve got the right offset for your rims.. you wont have a problem...

IS the offset you are refering to is ZERO ? Is centerline wheel consider high end ? What are some of the not so cut throat price hingh end wheel out there ? Each under 20 lbs I assume.

wheels

well the easiest and most cost effective method of buying wheels is to get them in a package with tires, they come mounted and balanced plus hardware. Every thing for easily under $1000 and often times under $900. Check out Edge Racing, right now they've got a special package for $680! My cousin bought a nice set of black six spoke 16"x7" s with Faulken Ziex ZE-512 205mm for $860. Or The Tire Rack, they also have some nice sets. If you plan on using any of the wheels you find on those sites you will need wheel spacers to correct the offset and adjust your lug spacing. Those will hit you for $240 at Modern Motorsports. Those will correct 35-40mm offset found on fwd wheels and adjust your spacing to 4x100mm (civic or integra spacing). So if either of the wheel sites ask for a vehicle make just put in something like '91 integra. Best of luck and hope this helps!

PS-- for those reading Moder motorsports now offers "xtreme 13in big brake kit" Its availabe for '70-'83 but not yet listed! looks like 4 piston capliers and maybe a 5 lug pattern by the picture posted. Check it out!

I just weighed the stock Z rim with tire. It weigh roughly 36 lbs. Is this consider light ? What kind of 17" RIM can I get that will give me total weight of rim and tire under 30 lbs ?

most new rims and tires should be under 30lbs total. Figure on your rim weighing 15-20lbs and the tire around10lbs.
