Me and a couple buddies stole the Swastika wheels - $20 a piece. We also bought the passenger-side seat [mint leather tan interior!] for $25 I think it was, and the center-taillight piece that says 280ZX TURBO for $7.50.
I'm going back in a couple weeks for the engine [complete P90A, nothing wrong outside!], ECU, wiring, a couple other things, and the other seat. They're only asking $125 or something along those lines, for engines, no matter what makes or models. ECUs are $20, and wiring harnesses are like $30, if that. I've found the jackpot, boys.
Soon enough ... I'll be boosted. Hopefully my money-making scheme pays off in the next week or two, and I'll be set. Just thought I'd share. -Dave-O

Good come up. Nice find. I wish we had stuff like that in our pick N pulls
It's awesome - there was only one other Z there ... a Z31 Turbo auto ... and that one was torn to bits. This ZXT was untouched - complete. The only problem with the car was the incredible amount of rust along the structural areas. There's a spare tire rim sticking through the driver's side floorboard, so ... This is the third Z I've seen in a junkyard here since I can remember. I'm surprised it's complete - one of my buddies thinks it's been sitting for over a year [no clue how long in the 'yard though], but it's pretty far back in the Nissan area, so I dunno. If the wheels were still on it when we found it, then it's golden. I know I'll also be back for interior panels for my '82, since it's got a tan cloth interior. Door panels are mint on that ZXT, by the way.
I'm stoked! -Dave-O

If the car was untouched then there is a good chance it just showed up there. I wouldn't wait too long to go back for the engine. I've yet to see a Z sit in a junk yard for more than a few days without having most of the commom MIA parts already plucked. ESPECIALLY at turbo car. I found a turbo car completely intact out here in VA, it was the only non Z31 Z in the whole yard. I came back the next day and the head, distributor and a bunch of other miscellaneous things had already been picked. The block was still there but I already had an F54 so that wasn't what I was after. And I got there first thing in the morning meaning who ever pulled all that had done it the previous day after I left.

Hey Dorifto, good one bud. Sounds like another Turbo will soon be revived.
Just to add, when you are pulling the turbo goodies off the car dont forget the Dizzy, the AFM, the oil cooler, and the Fuel pump. Take the turbo exhaust manifold with the engine too. And the hood if iits still there and in good shape.
Also, as per my understanding, if the junker's tranny is Auto and yours is 5-speed, or vice versa, then the junk yard ECU is no good either, in case you end up buying something you cant use. The auto ECU is mapped differently then the manual one.

Pull-A-Part on Redwood Road, just North of US.201. Check it out, if you have the time. I planned on pulling the entire engine - I can't let a P90A head sit in a yard, oh no. The ZXT is a 5-speed, by the way. I went back on the 13th to pull an axle for a friends' Toyota pickup, and they had what appeared to be a Limited-Edition '79 ZX, with a PERFECT tan interior. I pulled the seat covers off to check them out, and they looked as though they just came out of the dealership. I'm going back for those seats, definitely. Originally Posted by NismoPick

Mine too. That turbo ZX I saw in the pick N pull out here in VA is the only non Z31 I've come across since I've lived here. I did come across a 280Z once but it was picked completely dry. But thats it. When I lived in CA I could go to the pick a part any day of the week and find plenty of Z's of all kinds with plenty of parts on them. That and there was a pick a part or ecology within 45min in any direction from my house. Man that was great
