fuel psi gauge?

fuel psi gauge?

iam going to put a fuel gauge in right after the fuel filter and inbetween the fuel rail.... will this be the right spot i want to know what my feul psi is, so i can tell if my fuel pump is working right ......has anyone done this befor ...will leaveing the gauge in there mess any thing up. i want it inside the ride is that ok to do with a fuel gauge. or will i smell fuel ??

Depends on what kind of pressure gauge you get. If it's a mechanical gauge then you'll have to run fuel line inside the car.... Yuk.

If it's an electronic gauge with a pressure sensor and a sending unit, then the only thing in the car is the wires. MUCH BETTER IDEA!

Of course, the electric gauge is going to be more expensive.

I would go with an electronic if you want it in the cabin.

Otherwise, just mount it in the engine compartment inline with the fuel line.

dam well i order it already this moring its the inline stlye with out a BOX lame well i will hook it up in that spot got the fittings already to go ..

Since the pressure should be constant, anywhere along the line would be fine. So the spot you picked is just perfect. If you get a mechanical fuel pressure gauge, you can get an isolator so that gas won't be plumbed into the car. Or, as was already mentioned, you can get an electric one (they're just expensive).

gauge installed

Ok got it all installed and put it to the test.... take alook runs at 29psi at idle when rev up it hit the 35 psi maker hmmm should i get a new fuel pressure regulator ..or fuel pump it self....shouldnt hit the 37psi maker or above as its beening reved up and run right at 30psi ?

I think that might be normal/desirable. Under greater load, you'd want higher pressure/more fuel going in. It's pretty much what those rising rate FPR's do.

thank you go get some they have diff colors and there only $11.00 a bag at the parts store one bag was just eff i was thinking of changeing them to blue i dont know ...........

so i think that it mite be running a little low from the it leaking a little around the gauge so i when a got some sealer my project for today
