Searched some threads but cant find the front speaker size for an '83? Are they 3.5" or 4"? Thanks

 

Front speakers are 4" round.

Just remove the glovebox to order to replace the right one, and I think you have to remove the dash to get to the other.

I used sony Xplode speakers, (2 for $50-60) they sound great.

they are 4 as kingdatsun said. and yeah dash has to come out for the center. i bought the most expensive speakers i could for there because i didnt want to have to pull the dash for one stupid speaker. mine even have titanium cones so the wont rott out!

 

And replace the speaker wires with a decent gauge while you're at it.
