Engine Rebuild

Well, Im getting towards the end of my engine rebuild/modifying project. I was just wondering what is the proper procedure to breaking in the engine? How long do I have to go easy on it until I can really rip on it? Thanks a lot.

Drive it like you stole it from day 1, and if she breaks early then you did something wrong..

I say drive it like you stole it, as well. Think of it this way, you baby it those 1500 miles, then something happens after that when you jump on it, then you just wasted 1500 miles of driving. Nah, but really, 1500 sounds reasonable, I'd do your first oil change at 300 miles though.

Oil Oil Oil Do Three Changes By The Time You Get To That 1500 Mark

You Will Be Golden Gams :d

MAKE SURE YOU LOCK , DOWN ALL THE BOLTS BEFOR AND AFTER YOU RUN IT
THREE TIME EACH GRASS HOPER {I FOUND SOME SMALL LEAKS AT A FEW SPOTS ON MY CAR AFTER TAKING IT APART.. LOOK OVER EVERYTHING BOFOR@AFTER YOU RUN HER AT LEAST THREE TIMES } YOU WILL MOST LIKELY GET A INTAKE LEAK IF YOU HAVE REMOVED IT RETIGHTEN RETIGHTEN RETIGHTEN

and and dont driver it at one consited speed for very long change like 5mph for example 75mph got to 70 and so forth or the engine will get a custom to that speed and one day it will only run good that rpm that you are at but you only have to do that for like 300-500 miles i cant rember

If it tears the engine apart it was not built right.. My dad has been building drag engines for 11 years now and that is his philosophy and it works, We have built 2 engines one for my Z and one for my VW and I took both to redline from day one, and have had no major probs. But tranny's that is a whole nuther story.

ok well i know that you are sick of hearing how long but i just ask my dad which has rebult moter since he was 15 so he know a little bit and he said that it you can not bring it to red line for 500 miles and then you can for only a sec and then the time from what i was saying up early in the post you have to rang on you rpm for 1500 adn if you think that you have been at an rpm to long you haveso change your speed and the guy that has a dad that builds drag moter they are alway get ran hard and then they get rebulit later 3 time after run or in a year but if you dont want have to rebuld go off this
