electronic instrament panel not working in 83 280zx

hi...friends 83 280zx has a digital instrament panel (speed, odometer, fuel etc) which goes on and off while driving. when the car ignition is set to acc or on, it works, however, once driving, the majority of the time it does not...replaced the entire instrament panel, same problem...any suggestions or something we are not checking? thanks

If it is happening while you are driving there is a loose connection in the power wiring somewhere. Can't tell you exactly where but it is somewhere in the main power lead, maybe at the connector itself.

or the ground.... if you can find one or more of the ground wires coming from the cluster, try to run additional ground wires off of that (as close to the instruments as possible) to the dash frame. Maybe that's all you'll need.
