Die ZX, DIE!

I pulled parts car #1 in the garage for the final dissasembly today. I'm hoping to get all the parts removed today that I will want and then roll the frame out to a good spot in the yard to take the suspension off and start cutting the frame into chunks. Frame cutting will happen on a later date though. Here are the pics of the car as it sat this morning.

As for selling parts, most all the major components of the car have already been purchased or spoken for. I will be posting a 'sale' page on my web site soon with available parts for your ZX shopping.

no, that's the non-turbo. The turbo ZX is parts car #2. I'm keeping the CV's in the turbo for a spare set for my car. I'm keeping one spare of each item that I can use in my 280ZX.

The 1987 300ZX NA is parts car #3!

I would certainly trade a set of CV's for an R200 LSD.

ya, I can sell you one. Send me a PM about it on Sunday or Monday once I'm done tearing the car apart.

The day is drawing to an end and I've only gotten some of the front body and most of the engine compartment stripped. Got the doors, hatch, and interrior left to do... today?

These Z's are already gone. The non-turbo is rusted out and the rear quarter panels are showing large amounts of bondo use. I have no idea the extent of the damage back there. The turbo is all dented up around the rear and the interrior is wasted. Way too much work for me to put into either one. But I can make a little money and get a bunch of spare parts to hopefully keep my 280ZX on the road for many years. I just need to avoid being rearended by some ignorant fool.

Are we looking at the same car?? That left tail light looks totally smashed to me...

If you lived closer I'd be more than willing to take that unibody off your hands, anything in my area looks like my car ...or worse. Any chance you can cut panels off and ship those? There's a few that I could use.

You can take the whole chassi if you want!
Ya I can cut up panels and ship them to MI on a pallet. Depends on how many you want. The cost might be more than buying another car.

Time for a dinner break...

Left rear quarter behind the wheel is the critical part, the rest I can take care of with straight sheet metal. I am very tempted to come for the chassis, however you are a bit of a drive away! What do you think it'd cost to ship the chassis to michigan? few grand maybe?

It would probably cost more than a whole car is worth to ship the chassi. If the chassi had a suspension, then it would just be considered a car being shipped which can be done for $700-900 I believe. You might as well buy a car near you for $1000 if you're going to do that. The only way it would be less is if you came out here with your own truck and trailer and just paid for gas.

Those are free too! Come on by and get 'em

BTW, even though only one seat is pictured, I do have both. The driver's seat is already removed. Both are in poor condition and free to anyone in Washington who can pick them up.

Parts pulling gallore! I've got all kinds of goodies for my Z now, and pulling the dash doesn't seem so hard now. I've learned a few things about the 280ZX by ripping it apart to this extent. fun, fun, fun! The transmission is almost disconneted and the block/tranny combo will be pulled tomorow.

The door panels are ok. There is a small hole where a tweeter was mounted and both the lower pockets are ripped out a bit. It has that cool "Datsun 280ZX" writting all over it that you can't really see in pictures.

I got it here in Washington.

Have a seat!
