Custom gauges

i'm working on getting some custom gauges made. When i get done I will post how to do it with pics and the downloadable pics to customize for yourself. Just a heads up.

Here are some pics of what i'll have done. they are at a graffix place on base now being made. the yellow is a see through yellow so you'll still be able to see the lights. they are like a vinyl covering.

yeah i know they are not perfect but there are no other alternatives out there right now. I found some for 70-78 Z's but nothing newer

snwbrderphat540 09-09-2006 08:35 AM

Again, I hate to say it... but if you get your car painted the way you want it, those guages will look really good. Nice work man.

Rod.

Thats is some blangin ass green. I love it

WildmaN 09-09-2006 05:16 PM

Same here Skittle, I really can't stand green or yellow. But you are making them look desirable. Mad props to you man, that Z is going to look killer, and verry unique. When you get done with it, great work bro':038:

I got to thinking... bad idea. Some people put ghost flames on their cars. I might think about doing a ghost stripe offcenter. Comments?? i'll photochop some

Umm as long as it is the contrasting color, I think it might work....green car yellow ghost stripe.

lww 09-09-2006 08:58 PM

I'm thinkin' a darker green ghost stripe running off-center to the passenger side would look killer!

skittle 09-09-2006 10:26 PM

hmmm ill try that

Right on top of the hood, like Bleach's rising sun hood.

Nothing runs like a Deere!

Bleach 09-11-2006 07:32 AM

there is a file out there somewhere with 280ZX gauges already. People were printing them out years ago and selling them on eBay

I would just say make some white face gauges and use green backlighting for at night.

HybridS130 09-11-2006 11:40 AM

Maybe I missed it but, are you carrying this scheme over onto the three pod guages as well?

skittle 09-11-2006 12:18 PM

i have not decided yet. those are a little more cumebersome. Only the oil pressure one works and i put that on a a-piller. So as of now i might just leave them be.

NismoPick 09-12-2006 02:09 PM

Now that is tight... but will any of it be visible at night? I assume you'll be taking off the orange bulb covers? Thas what I did anyway.... makes the gauges less colorful, but more visible.

skittle 09-12-2006 02:35 PM

I was thinking of adding some white lights instead of the orange ones, or put in some LED's. I love the look of the 240z on the bottom. It sort of gives the recognition to its preddisessor. (Sp?) You get my drift.
