Crane cams ignition install

Sorry if this is considered a double post but ive been trying to put this thing in and ive been goin by the hitachi distributor instructions because they make the most sense from what i see in front of me but now im stumped.it says to put the optical trigger output wires through the grommet that the pick up wires went through but on my 80' 280zx the pick up wires go into the ignition module right? So can i completely take the ignition module off of my distributor and just run the wires through the hole where it was

ok sorry i figured out the answer to that question but now do i leave the original wires plugged to the coil along with the new wires coming from the crane ignition module or do i tape them off.My guess would be combine all because dont the wires come from the batter to power the coil?

If I remember correctly dude It says to tape it off. I have the xr700 module but I haven't put it in yet. The coil wire it says you need a spiro pro, pretty much one of the performance plug wires. There's a chance you can get it from your local auto zone. Was it easy to install the electronic ignition? Did you use the stock coil or one of the crane cams ones?

I know there are the wires for the optical trigger. Aren't the other one's for the power and grounds? I have the ps-91 coil and it says I have to have a chrysler style ballast resistor but I'm gonna try to run it through the stock one.

are you leaving the stock cables that already went to your coil before you got the xr-700 on along with the cables from the xr-700.Or are you taping off the original negative

I'm connecting them to the coil I think. I haven't gone through and tried to install it yet but I'm pretty sure that's what's going on. There are two prongs for the ground and positive then the stud for the coil wire on my ps-91 coil.
