I recently found out my temp gage on my dash is out and overheated. Checked my rad and it and the overflow was bone dry, I put coolant in to the rad and it was leaking out of a part in the rear passenger side of the engine, there is one big hose that goes to it with a clamp and another smaller hose to it. When I push the big hose it leaked more and faster too. Please let me know what the hell I did to the motor 😂
So that "T" thing is a diverter valve. The way it is supposed to work is when you have the A/C on there is a vac operated stop **** valve under the dash that stops the coolant flow thru the heater core. the hose that is connected to the engine is the water out of the head. The coolant needs to leave the head so that "T" thing has a plug on a spring and the pressure of the coolant leaving the head pushes the plug open and the coolant is diverted back to the front of the engine thru the long hose that is under the spark plugs. You can remove the "T" and carefully pull it apart if it is stuck open or closed. I replace one of mine with a 5/8 "T" . This
FYI......the hoses that go thru the firewall are no longer available and you have to pull the dash out to replace them. All you can do is use bulk heater hose.
