if you did, drop the chain. then the spring tensioner maybe out of it's placed. you have to pull the front cover off to put the spring back in its place

your gonna have to take it all appart.. i sudgest taking the radiator out soyou got more room to work.. the harmonic ballencer is gonna have to come out... prett much eveything in front part of the engine.. you might have to call up bleach to come help you.. this is gonna be a lot of work... did you use a wedge tool when you were taking off the chain from the cam sprocket????? without it the tensioner spring is gonna pop out...

take off the front timing chain cover/ water pump. but, loosen up the oil pan, so the front drops down 1/4" to get the cover off easier. Take off dizzy and oil pump too, to get the cover off....... it's a lot of work, have fun

murphy's law

always comes into play.

on the harmonic balancer, try a little tap tap on a piece of wood..BE gentile

borrow a puller from someone to do it right if you can.

the tension adjuster has popped

after you finally get the front cover of...make absolutely sure you have lined up the both notch marks on the timing chain

refer to a shop manual to do it RIGHT.

WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THAT AT LIKE 3:00 THIS AFTER NOON

ON A BETTER NOTE IF YOU LOCK A BAR ON TO THE FRAME AND THEN HOOK IT TO THE NUT ON THE harmonic balancer, WITH THE CAM GREAR STUCK SO THAT IT WILL SPIN ... YOU CAN TURN THE KEY SO THAT THE NUT BREAKS FREE AND THEN USE A PULLER IT WILL COME RIGHT OFF I WISH I WOULD HAVE SET THE CHANE RIGHT IT STILL WONT START ........... READ {DAY OF HELL FOR MORE
