Automatic windows

So I've got power windows in my 280ZX. Most people with one probably do, I figure. However, I saw in the advertisements that there's a version out there with a center switch where my "Z" is in the window control unit. The switch is for the auto-up/down so you, obviously, don't really need your hands to raise/lower the window. What cars did that come on? What are my chances of finding that part?

My friends dad has a 79 and it has it. I was wanting the same thing on my car but just haven't looked into it, or looked for the parts. Don't know if you can just unplug yours and plug this one in or if you need a control module.

I know what you're talking about. I saw it advertised on an old 280zx commercial I have on my computer. I think the ad was for the "new" 1979 280zx. I've never seen it on the 82-83 models. Maybe it was not nessisary or broke often....or killed a few people who stuck their heads out the window and hit the switch with their knee!

lol, you never know...

..I was hoping maybe I could do a retrofit, if I could find where to look. I'm one of those types that likes automatic windows. I had a Supra before this car, and it had an auto-up driver's window (after I strategically applied a razor knife to the switch...) and I rather liked it. I doubt there's a modification I can make to the Z's window switch to make it automatic, though..

Perhaps I'll just have to find an aftermarket kit to make my existing switches auto up/down.
