Post Automatic antenna

Well, since I can't find a used stock antenna anywhere; I think I'm going to buy one of those replacement ones they sell on eBay.
But here's my concern, will I still be able to use the antenna button, the one on the stock radio, to lower and raise the antenna with these replacement antennas?

I noticed that these replacement antennas have 3 wires (red, blue and black), but the stock antenna comes with a 4 wires harness (yellow, black, blue/red and blue/white). I basically don't want to lose the ability to use the antenna button on my radio, not to mention that I don't really want to pay $160.00 for the stock antenna from MSA.

Yeah, but the price's already over $30.00 and there's three days left on the bid, so I'm sure it will sell for more than that. I figure if I'm going to win a bid for a used antenna, might as well buy the stock one from MSA.

Have you already tried the local junk yards? www.car-parts.com is a good site to locate parts. But ya gotta remember... the stock auto antenna is somewhat rare now & ya can't expect a freebie or cheap deal. If ya get one for cheap: good... but if ya need one now, I suggest getting one from the junk yard at the price they ask.

Will those replacement ones work like the stock one?
I mean, will I still be able to use the antenna button on the radio?

if it isn't a direct plug in deal, then doing a little rewiring to make it work would be a piece of cake. The button is just a circuit interrupter.

My aftermarket "Automatic" antenna works awesome!!!

When I grab it and pull up on it, it "Automatically" goes up. When I push down on it... well, you get the idea

My take on power antenna's... Useless extra weight and poor reception due to interference. Ditch 'em and go "old school".

Rod.

I went aftermarket on the antenna. I just need it to get it to run with the radio button.
