Hi Z'ers!!
I am going to have to rename my 81Zx "leaky". First I stopped the t-tops with vaseline. Then I took it to a glass place and had the windshield re-done (only $75.00). Now the heater core is pissing on the passenger side floorboard! Yes, I changed the hoses first. So anyway, I am armed with a haynes manual but, has anyone else been there and can you offer any advice? It is an A/C model. Thanks, Jim

 

:doh: Yah ive removed the heater core before. One thing you gotta check is to see that if your heater core valve isn't leaking first. Cuz thats the problem I had on My Z. But first things first. you gotta remove the dash after that you have to remove the AC units, the blower fan, then remove the evaporator. Now remember when you take this off that your not gonna have ac anymore. and take out the heater unit. You take off everything systematically. Takes about 4 hours to do and be careful with the dash you dont want to crack it.
