Another new Z owner

Hello everyone, I have been lurking and searching quite a bit lately but this is my first post.

A little over a month ago I inherited my uncle’s 83 280ZX 2+2. While he was alive it was his baby. I have many memories has a child wanting to go for a ride which rarely happened because when we would visit all my other 13 cousins would be bugging him also. So mostly we just sat around and bragged about the few times we actually did get to go for a ride. Now I get to go DRIVE it whenever I want. (HaHaHaHa to rest of my cousins)
The Z has been kept in the grange most of it’s life so it is in pretty good shape for a 32 year old car. But because it is a 32 year old car and spent about 2 years in the Central Texas sun it needs a little TLC. I have described it’s condition has not as good has I hoped but better then I expected.
Anyways thanks to everyone who has posted so much great information and Thanks in advance for future information because I’m sure I will have a lot of questions or at least ask for clarification.

Yep, like Skully says, welcome to ZDriver. and congratulations. The world is full of drivers. Then, there are Z drivers. They're just better. Just look around you. You'll see what I mean.

We all want to see some pics of your Z baby. Plus, you get to DL a freebie factory service manual at XenonS130 - S130 Reference Owner's manual, other cool docs too. '

Your new Z probably needs some tuning and poking to get it back to 100%. Just let us know.

Thanks and welcome again.

Thanks for the welcome.
I have already downloaded the manual and all other documents that pertain to my Z.
As far as tuning it is good to go. About a year ago my cousin took it to a mechanic and told him that he wanted it road worthy. So with the car I received a 3 page receipt that included;
A general tune up.
Replacement of most major brake components.
Replacement of bushings.
And the one I was most hoping to see a compression test with good results.
It stated “Great compression across all cylinders.”
And a few other odds & ends.
So far I have only had to put 4 new tires, the old ones were starting to show dry rot.

I’m still working on getting photos posted into my post. Until then I have added a photo in my album.
