About my new car (well old but new to me)
Alright, so i got this car right, an 83 280zx turbo, this car was my g/f's brothers' car when he was 16 (wouldnt that be nice to have when u turned 16) and that was in 1999. then i guess he put a new motor in it (82zxt) and lost interest. so i asked if i could have it and the answer was yes. it was sitting for about 5 years behind a warehouse (some kids exploded a fire extinguisher in it, so new interior to come), i got a key made for it (orginal was lost) weird though, the ignition actually excepted a blank datsun key (new ignition to come later) so anyways, it started on the 1st try (SWEET) so i got it to my house (tow) then started working on it, when i pressed the clutch down, it would stay down, so i bought a new slave cylinder and installed it, bled it like 30 times (damn!) and it didnt work still, so i crawled under it (i was pressing the pedal while a friend dealed with the bleeder screw) i pressed the piston in once and then he pressed the cluth and for some reason it strated working (magic touch). SO I AM REALLY GEEKED NOW! now i have to take apart the right rear rotor and all that fun wheel stuff cause the break pad and all that stuff is rusted solid, but it sux cause even the bolts 4 the caliper is rusted (anyone know good goo or grease to make breaking lose easier?) so after that atleast it will be drive-abled! (new word) well this is my progress so far, please message back with ur thoughts and ideas, im not a "z mechanic" so if i have questions i figure this would be the site for it, thankz

Congrats on the car. Sounds like you have one that wants to LIVE!!!
I've found that WD-40 works pretty good for loosening up rusted nuts and bolts. Just use a lot, let it soak, and re-apply. Make sure you wipe off the contact points first. It really sucks when a wrench slips off and you bust your knuckles.
The people on this site are the greatest. They helped me get my '83 ZX n/a back on the road after sitting in my driveway for the past six years.
I even took it to the track to see what it could do (just for fun)...I ran a 18.01 @ 82.31 MPH with an exhaust leak and a really bad set of struts!!! (I failed to mention the fact that I missed 2nd gear as well).
I figure if these guys (and gals) can help me get my car down the track in four months....well, you ought to be kicking some pooter in no time!

hey ducky, yeah, i hope if i have questions, people here will be friendly enough to answer all my questions about the z (even the dumb ones 
i am from toledo ohio btw. i have never seen a 280z(x) or 280zxt driving down the road, but there are a couple of 240's and 300's that drive around here, plus on my recent trip to chicago, i seen a 280zx driving down the street and that fueled my desire even more, well i gotta go, i hear my car telling me to help its injured, right-rear wheel assembly.....ohhh..i also just bought a can of pb-blaster, guy at auto-zone said he took an exhaust manifold off with this stuff, so i figured that it would definately work on a rusted caliper bolt...well off to see....
