79-280ZX -@seater
I live in Chiefland FL. Traded my boat for a Z. It does run But it is burning to rich of fuel. and burning out the sparkplugs. It came from Ga. WE have Replaced the following, sp/pl-dist-cap-roter -fuel pump/ 2 fuel injecters/mod vavle/IC Unit/Air Flow Meter. I think that's it. ?? Iam lost from there but should i try to adjust the mixture ratio my self or find someone who knows what they are during? brensun

You could adjust the a/f mixture, just be careful and do it with an a/f gauge. I haven't done it before but there have been people who have. Apparently there are 2 screws on the AFM that adjust things. If you look on ZCAR and do a search in the archives, I'm positive you'll find your answer.

It seems as though one of the major culprits for 280ZX's running too rich is the cylinder head temp sensor...it seems as though when they go bad it makes the car run way rich...
Just a thought...

Hey awd92gsx I'll check with the parts store this weekend and see if they have a temp sensor for the heads. thank you But i think i'am going to have to take it to ( I know I'll have to find someone to fix it) . ONE ? . would running low test fuel & then High test fuel have anything to do with what my problem might be??? brensun
