280zx won't start. New Battery and Starter

Just replaced main bearings and rod bearings, tried to start and the starter burnt out on me. So, I bought a new starter and battery. Installed it, and I get nothing. No click, no fuel pump turning on. Need a bit of help on this, it kills me not seeing my baby run.

your fuel pump should kick in when the key is in the "on" position.. or whatever position it is before the initial crank position.

another thing to check would be the fuel pressure... i personally havent done it but ive always wanted to add a aftermarket inline fuel pressure gauge.. looks cool and it helps with upkeep/tuning.

if its been along time (more than a year) you may want to drain fuel and put new.

do you got spark?

Do your interior lights come on? Rare, but a new battery can be DOA. Check volts, ground and wiring.

Also very possible is that you somehow burnt a fusible link. Since you say there's no click (none whatsoever) that tells me that your relays aren't even engaging (something that my car does even when the starter solenoid isn't engaged).

So, check your fusible links (I burnt one once just driving down the freeway, they're 32 year old pieces of wire disguised as "fuses".
