I have a 1979 280zx, which I am told needs its radiator re-cored.

Price of re-coring, $440 AU ($307 US). I have not been able to find a local radiator manufacturer to sell me an entire new radiator. I could get a 2nd hand recond radiator, but am still looking at $380 AU ($265 US).

So I looked online... and found www.radiatorbarn.com. They have a radiator for a 280zx which is only $119 US, plus $46 US postage to Australia - a total of about $236 AU - saving over $100 to get a new radiator compared to reconditioned.

BUT... the guy at radiator barn is very insistant on making sure I am getting the RIGHT radiator, as he wont accept returns given the postage situation.

Does this sound like the right measures for a 280zx radiator core? 24" x 16-1/8"

PS Alternatively, if you live in AU, and know someone who makes radiators.......

 

Can't you just measure your old radiator before ordering?

 

All 280zx's use the same size radiator. We had the 280zx from 79-83. I think the ZX started in 78 in your area. It should be fine.
