280zx New Owner From Laredo Texas

Hello

I just started a resto job on a 1981 280zx today we have got it running after sitting for 10-12 years.

We are looking for a fuel tank, but dang they are hard to find or very expensive. Any tips for this problem ?

Thanks alot and look forward to posting up on the forum

If you can salvage the one you have, you'll be better off than trying to buy a new one for a 25 year old car. If yours is a completely lost cause, you'll have to try and source one from a junk yard or the various forums.

If you don't have a tank....wait, since you've gotten it running i assume you have a fuel tank. If the tank you have is really really bad and unsalvagable i have a spare in my 1981 parts car you can have....i'm not too sure what it looks like but if it does have any holes, they would be really small and easy to patch. I live about 2hrs from you in Corpus btw and also....

Got to drive the Z yesterday

Considering it had been sitting there for a while i was very impresed

the fuel pump is having a hard time sorting out the crud that is still left in the tank but.......

drives very well and even spins the tires when shifting into second gear

we are waiting for a gas tank the after that fix the a/c

after the mechanics is over the meticulous task of detailing and body work

all in all i am very pleased
