280zx completely shut down hitting railroad tracks
ok so i was driving over railroad tracks earlier today and instantly car shut off rpm hit 0, whole car killed itself. I still have interior lights and headlights stuff like that... radio died, cigarette lighter (phone was almost dead) fuel pump is off, engine wont even crank, what did i bump or mess up to cause this all to shut off??? its like i lost all accessories hmm
everythings been fine and dandy for awile now, this is crazy lol |
seems that your alternator and battery died
or maybe fusible link.
Lose Battery cable or blown fusible link!!
battery cables are all tight took em off and reattached, alternator is fairly new. under 1k miles. battery is few months old. ill look at fusable links some more but look closer
I'd check the grounds to the engine as well. Mainly the one off the battery cable to the starter.

Smack the panel by your computer. If that doesn't work, shake your injector harness.
Was the battery secured? If not, it might've grounded out to the hood.
i bet a plate fell over in the battery. pull the cables and check the voltage. no point starting in the middle of the circuit if you dont know the source is any good.
Bad ignition switch?
I d doubt the battery is bad if you still have lights. Check the connector harness to the ecu.
voltage drop test the cables, if you have a multimeter set it to volts, connect the negative to the battery negative post and connect the positive lead to a good clean grounded engine part, start the engine, if the volts jump high to 12v or so, then you have a bad ground, but if they stay low around .1-.5v you are good.
