ye olde popoff valve modification

OK, so I shimmed up my popoff valve with big fat washers until it wouldn't shim any more and it only allows 10 or 11 pounds of boost before it opens. Have any of you tried any springs other than the tremendously overpriced MSA springs? If you have, where'd ya get 'em? I'm in dire need of more speed!
Thanks!

Yeah, I could plug it, but I'd rather keep it for safety reasons. I want to put a spring in there that would pop it open at about 18 pounds of boost. I'll probably just go to the hardware store and get a few springs and experiment with them. I'll probably have to use the new spring in conjunction with the stock spring.
