Why not use exahust bolts instead of studs and nuts
Hi Everybody... I was just checking out Shady280's how to do your intake exhaust gasket. I need to replace my gasket and I'd like to do it soon. So...
I was thinking why not do bolts? I know nuts strip and that would be a nightmare. I know some nuts seize, also a nightmare. The studs look tricky to take out. BTW are the studs reverse thread or regular? Has anyone ever tried this? Any downsides to doing all bolts instead of studs and nuts? Anyways... I look forward to everyone's thoughts on the matter. Also, the studs make it much easier to install the exhaust manifold since you can hang the manifold on the studs.

Thanks Nismopick.

second what nismopick said. thanks for reading my how to!! the other important part is to use those factory thick washers to spread the load out between the manifolds. regular washers just dont do the trick

^ I got that same exact kit for my '82 slicktop, when I did the cylinder head. You can't beat the factory set. ;)
