Why?

Hey all!

I am going to swap out my z's Auto transmission for a manual I have found, but I need to remove the new transmission first...

The FSM does a good job of explaining the process, but at once point, it tells me to "support the engine with a jack". Why do I need to do this?

I understand the need to support the transmission as I remove the rear mount, but why do I need to support the engine if I'm only removing the trans?

Thanks for answering this, I haven't ever removed a transmission before if you can't tell.

To keep the engine mounts from getting bent or broke from the engine tilting. It's like removing a leg from a tripod and expecting it not to fall over.
