Running P79 Head on N42 Block
Hello Everyone!
I've researched, but would like to double-check my findings.
Running a N42 block(dished pistons) with a P79 head shows a compression ratio of ~7.4, (with a 2mm head gasket) as shown here:

Now, from what I understand, lowering the compression ratio this much pretty much lowers the horsepower of the engine to something like ~90 horsepower.
BUT! I thought, with lower compression ratios, you can in turn have an engine which can use more boost. So while it may be slow without a turbo; you could use a turbo and get more boost than the stock 280ZXT engine. Since detonation is a large problems in these motors, it is justifiable to run a lower compression ratio for the sake of allowing more boost, and in turn, more end horsepower? Or, would it just have so little power off-boost that it would be improbable to drive?
