one more engine question
I have one more question about my engine, now that I've gotten it running sort of right. the power really seems to drop at around 5000 rpm. there also seems to be a few flat spots in the power band after I hit 4500. Before, the engine wouldn't even reach 5000 until I discovered a mixture adjustment screw on the back side of the MAF meter. I went to adjust it, and to my surprise it was cranked in there all the way. I backed it out a few turns, and the car seemed to wake up and rev right out. I'm a little worried about cranking on that screw any more because I heard that it's not a good idea to play with that stuff too much. I'm just wondering if I should keep leaning it out, or check for some other stuff that would cause flat spots in the power band. By the way, EVERYTHING that has to do with fuel delivery and ignition has been replaced on this car, and the compression checks out from 140-150 psi per cyllinder.
