Nismo Air Intake Filter

Just bought this NISMO AIR INTAKE FILTER from e-bay and wanted to know if filter is for a cold air intake system or can u just take the o.e.m. air intake system off and just hook it up there?

you can just hook it up there, most people make there own cold air intake, by using pvc pipe with a 90 degree bend and however long pipe you want on it, and it just goes in to where the old air cleaner box was.

well yeah you would need a pipe at a 90 degree bend that sits in the space inbetween the radiator and the bumper

Why do you need a pipe. I just clamped the air filter to the rubber hose. The new filter sticks out past the radiator. Viola, cold air intake

...doesn't the left hood hindge hit the filter? It would on my K&n filter if i set it up like that.

When the hood is closed the hinge just pushes it down, but since the filter is attched to the rubber hose it just moves down. It don't pince it or move it alot, so I can't see the harm.
