need help with ignition problem

ok, everything was sparking fine just a couple weeks ago before i pulled the injectors... after i put everything back, now i dont have spark. i know the ignition coil has power on both sides, but it doesnt spark from the coil to the distributor. i was thinking maybe the crankshaft position sensor, which is inside the distributor, or the power transistor next to the coil? does anyone know of a way to test these. i had no luck with the haynes manual on this one. im stuck and need some help. thanks in advance.

by the way this is for an 83 280zxt :)

Is the coil and bracket securely grounded? It won't spark if it's not grounded.

check the plugs on the distributor. Make sure the round plug is in secure. That is for the crank angle sensor you mentioned.

yeah its posssible that the coil is loose, ill check it later today and let you guys know what happens. thanks

the coil was way loose, but no dice even after i tightened it up. luckily i caught the problem: a loose connection on the top of the motor. she fired right up, unfortunately ran like crap, but at least finally she's running and staying running.

its really rough and lots of backfiring, no way is the car even close to drivable, in fact i doubt i can put it in drive without it stalling. but at least i am making progress.

thanks for all the help in all of my threads, most especially to you nismopick. i wish i had a junker near by to swap parts with... oh well i just wanted to let some of it out, talk to you guys later!!

your spark problem.

My ZX developed a miss. I thought it was the plugs, but no. What it was, was that some yoyo I bought it from did not insert the dist plug wire all the way in and it began to fire through the bakelite.
