Did you pinch the return hose before or after the guage? If you squeezed it after the guage then it shouldn't have dropped, it should've shot up. If you squeezed it before the guage then that was normal. As far as your car not wanting to start after doing so: Are you sure you're not outta gas? It's always the little things

Sounds like a hose popped off somewhere. Sounds simple enough, but check it out. Maybe you popped a hose off the pump. That would explain the normal hum, but zero pressure. Sometimes the hoses are just clamped tight enough to hold, but when an added force [see also: pinch] comes along, it's enough to go POP ... and off it goes.

Im in a mission from God right now, will post results, appears to be the fpr not holding, so pressure just go around but for now just a theory, pinched the return line one more time with key ON n presurized to 60 n hold (residual pressure) so no leaks..got to go.

OK car is back n flying like is was meant to be: from 60 psi to 0 then back to 30 plus residual pressure, in hours for me, minutes for the wise. The solution: new German AFPR. What do we, the untrained, learn from this? fuel pressure gauge rules!
is like having an eye looking 24/7 into the FI
