How do you fix that safety check light in the gauge cluster?

So that little box between the speedo and tach is just full red all the time. I think it's supposed to flash a few things, ending in "OK," and then go off. Is there a way to fix this? When I push the "CHECK" button next to it, it flashes "WASH" 4 times and goes back to being full red. I know this means I have to put in washer fluid, but is the "fully red all the time" thing normal?

It means fix the issue! Then it will go back to not being lit up. if it just flashes "WASH" then fill your washer fluid bottle

my old zx did that zoo. In my current one I have the washer tank with the level switch removed so it is always open circuit but my "little box" ends up going off properly. In my old zx I had removed many vac ports on the manifold and had an exhaust leak, I think the red is there for code from afm on bad mixture/vacuum or the like.

fixed it. Just unplugged the wires that were coming from the washer fluid reservoir cap and problem solved.

Lol... why didn't you just add more washer fluid? I find the Red Box light is very helpful and I try to keep all the things it complains about in check.

Oh well, I like ignoring problems sometimes too I suppose.

The problem isn't that there's no washer fluid...the problem is that the little reader stick (with the float level) that is attached to the cap is cracked and non-functioning and I can't find a replacement.
