Help with a Part Name

On my 83 NA, there's a piece that hooks into the base of the thermostat housing with 3 vacuum lines hooked to it. I broke off one of the nipples and want to replace this unit, but have no idea what to ask for. And can I get it from a place like NAPA, or is it a dealer item? Thanks...Robert

Is it a small plastic piece for your vacuum distribution? If so, you can pick one up from Kragen or Pepboys. It's called a vacuum t-adapter; they have all manner of shapes and sizes.

In case anyone cares, that part is called a Thermal Vacuum Valve. Here's what the Nissan FSM says: The valve opens and closes to either permit or obstruct external air passing to the distributer vacuum line. When the valve opens, the vacuum signal line will allow external air to enter, thereby stopping the distributer vacuum from advancing.

BTW, it's $50 for that sucker...Robert
