Hi everyone im a first time z owner and was wondering if someone could give me some pointers on my new ride. I just today bought my first Z its a 1979 datsun 280zx and man is it cherry but i am a speed FREAK. its my addiction and i need help to make my z faster if you have any ideas, input, resources or anything to help me out it would be greatly apreciated.

WHat head does it have? You can tell by looking on the passenger side up towards the front where the head meets the block.

The best things you can do right now that are easy is put a head and free flowing exhaust using mandrel bent pipe, and an intake.

Then you could have the head milled a little and add a mild cam which should help with power too.

Another method would be to find a wrecked turbo ZX and swap over the turbo engine and fuel injection, which will give you more power still, in stock form. Then raise the boost a little, perhaps add an intercooler, and you have a nice fast little car.
