gasket!

injector was leaking bad and car idled at normal....now i fixed the leak and car idles at 1200-2000
also...
would a slit in the intake gasket cause the car to idle higher then usual
took off intake and made a slit in the gasket, now i put some of that rubber gasket crap on and closed the hole.......i know i know replace any time you take it off but i was in a hurry....

also this is off topic does anybody know where a Chevy 95 lumina/monte carlo 3.1L idle screw is???

Why did you make a slit in the gasket? That doesnt' make sense.

If you have an air leak on the intake, yes that will cause the car to idle high. Try spraying a small amount of starting fluid near where you think the vaccume leak is; while the engine is idling. If the idle goes up, it sucked the mist in and you know where your leak is. Maybe you'll need to replace the gasket.

That is so funny! I've never heard of a vaccume leak being considered a performance modification! hehe... sounds more like you'll run lean and lose power. Never have a vaccume leak after the Air Flow Meter. You know better Skully.
