Fuel system problem

ok so I have a 81 280zx N/A and when I turn the key to the Acc. position I can hear the fuel pump runing and it does not stop or at least it sounds like the pump is running. I have not found any leaks anywhere and was wondering if anyone may know something im missing

thanks guys

I think mine did (memory from two years ago when it last ran) on acc.. I know my FC does on acc. because the PO was a POS and wired my pump like a retard. But in my other cars the fuel pump does not run on accessory, why should it, the pump is not an accessory.

Basically what is going on is the fuel pressure regulator is meeting the quota and sending the fuel back into the tank, so, nothing is really being used other than electricity.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Clean the L connectors on the oil pressure sender and the Alternator. If one or the other is unhooked it makes the fuel pump run any time the system has power.

If that didn't help check the fuel pump relay
