Continuity on alternator posts.

I just got my alternator reinstalled after having the parts store run a diagnostic on it. It came back all good.

When I was taking it out, the little plastic grommet that fits around the BAT terminal broke. Unable to find any plastic washers I used a couple o-rings to keep the eye-hole connector from touching the alternator's case.

Just to make sure had it spaced good, I took my multimeter and checked resistance between E and BAT. From the diagrams, it is my understanding that BAT and E(ground) are internally isolated from each other via 2 diodes and should not show continuity. But for some reason they are.

I double checked my o-ring spacers on the BAT terminal, and the connector is not touching the casing at all. Does this sound right?
