Confused about piston standard

Okay so the FSM for the L28et says the standard bore is 86.0 mm to 86.050 mm. Do other companies have their own standard as compared to the factorys?

pistons

according to ITM it says standard bore is 86.1mm but isn't that almost a .020" overbore? Could it be a fatal typo?

The ONLY reason you'd go over 89mm in piston diameter is to ruin an otherwise perfectly salvageable block. You'll find out what I'm talking about when/if you really do it.

I had a friends f54 blocked bumped out to 89 and their is still some room to bump hone a couple more times, plus isnt 89mm the standard bore for a 3L stroker?

well i got 86.1 so maybe i'll just hone the cylinders and pop them in, if they're too small then who wants to buy some new pistons? if they're too large then no biggie (intended) i'll bore it out
