ok this car use to be fast...one day it started to act up.....it will start and run so so...when i first cranked it up i could get it to accelerate past 3000rpm..after a little of driving when you hit the gas it starts to go up until you hit 3000rpm,then it will stall and hesitate and make this ka punk noise...i pulled the plugs they looked like they had carbon build up..i cleaned them ran it for a bit then pulled one and it looked black again..does that mean its running rich? if so why does it stall acting like it needs fuel after 3000?im going to put some fresh 93 oct gas in it tommorow and see if that helps but im thinking fuel pump,pressure reg,boost problems,maybe a bent valve or something...any input would help aot..anyone suffer from the same problem?

 

Check and clean your throttle position switch and the connector on the top of the switch. this item is on the left side of your throttle body.

 

Well i found out what it was ......The fuel pump has a small round filter screen in the line thats connected to the tank..I pulled it out and saw that it was clogged by trash..Cleaned it and now the car is back to normal

 

that ka-punk sound is ,cuz ive had this problem before, was my air flow meter as it would try to accelerate, however my problem was a wire going bad on the afm, i imagine feul pump could just as easily be the cause....
