Nope, you can't order them from me!
I don't know of any domed L28 pistons. People usually use flat tops and then various combinations of heads and head shaving to get higher compression. If anyone else knows of the raised pistons, feel free to chime in....

The bigest I found on line were like 9 I beleav. so I geus I have to go with that one flat top, and shave the head big time, port polish for the extra extra added compresion with the thin performance head gasket. Damn I want the 10:1 ratio so bad. I just wanted flat tops.

Ya, I just went to their web site and it was right there online.

Domed Pistons

Also, if you use the older N42,N27 heads on a flat top piston I think the compression ratio is 10:1 The bad part is the head design is open. If you shave an open chamber head enough, it starts to form a closed chamber design. You'll be at 12:1 compression by that point!

The oversized dome pistons would be heavier than stock, right? Would the stock crank and rods handle that ok?? And are forged pistons lighter than cast?

OK
I orderd the pistons erly wendsday morning, and I got a tracking sheet for the shiping, and my charge/price for the order, then msa calls me at work 4 hours later, and tells me they disscontinued those pistons and they can't send me any.
well I have to get some from somone els I gues, and let me say that I am not buying anything els from them ever again. I know they have good stuff, but that was the last straw. no more. My bank acount better not have goten charged for that freakin crap. that is all I have to say about that. sorry about my ranting but I needed to vent.

if you got a zx motor in there already, i'm assumming they are the flat top pistons... you can put a N42 head on it with a 1mm HG.. the compression would be in the 10:1 area.. that is your goal right?? this is the cheaper way of doing it..........that's what i think..

1981-83 non turbo blocks are labeled F54 and have factory flat tops.
(turbo engines also use the F54 block but have dished pistons)

75-80 L28 engines did have dished so there are many more of those around.

well I am using the n42 head for the sake of not having to take those sleevs out of the head.

I am going to stick with the standerd pistons, and just shave the head and use the thin head gasket. I Talked to my dad, and he told me he thinks he can get a holly double pumper for me when it is time for adding the intake on. You guys are cool you know that.

Oh yea so motorsport told me that they didn't disscontinue the pistons, but it was nissan who did, and that was who they got them from. Then the sales person asked me why I didn't get their forged pistons, and then I had to remind him that they don't even offer them yet, what a fart smeller, I mean smart feller.
any who there are allways other alternatives, like I am taking so it is fine. any feed back?

Oh well I think I am just going to shave the head, and use the Imm head gasket for raised compresion. I hop that and the stage 3 schnider racing cam is enough to really make this car be even more of a bad *** than it is now. All I have left to perchase are my rocker arms head gasket, and all my other gaskets. I went ahead and decided to go with the head off my 1976, it didn't have as much stuff on it as far as plugs were concerned, and no mettal sleeves. Oh yea the other three major things I have left to order is 4 barel intake exoust man., and carb. Not much further to go and I will find out how much it changed the car. I can't waite till its broken in so I can go ahead and race all the cars I have been wanting to race for so long. I figured I could win back some of the money I spent on the car you know.

I don't think half the people on this network understand that MSa really dose not offer those pistons. they say they do but Nissan actually discontinued them so Msa can't get them. All I have to do is get some turbo rings and turbo charg the car and get a turbo cam, and the dished pistons are fine because then I will have the 10:1 do to forced induction. so why waste your time with the flat tops. Oh and yes I did find the pistons. If you want to pay about $200 a piston you could do so. there is a company that will custom make them I think upon your request with a little money.
