It will be very nice for the track but for daily driving it could be quite annoying. When you put the car in reverse the tires are spinning, when you are turning the tires are just spinning and it has horrible turning ability. If you don't mind that and want to do it will work well. After so much power on a open differential both wheels are spinning either way I hope that summed up what you wanted to know.

The only use you could possibly have for a welded differential is for straight line drag racing. Don't bother unless you have over 200 whp anyway.
It won't be good for track driving. You want an LSD for turning performance.

a welded diff is going to give u better times than an open no matter how much power u have. It simply provides more grip. If you decide to go weld just make sure your suspension and tyres are up to scratch. Funniest scenario i could imagine is tackling a roundabout in the wet

OK here we go, I welded the 3.70 R200 in my 84 300ZXTurbo. Drag racing its the greatest thing since sliced bread. Daily driving IT SUCKS!!!!!You eat up your front tires, If it rains its twice as easy to get sideways,If you turn in public Everyone will look at you, tires squealing rear jumping up and down. Also mine lasted 6 months on the way up the highway the pinion bearings had enough of the added stress and burnt up on me. OHH Yea even if you have the same exact size tires it won't go straight!! You will fight the steering wheel anywhere you go. Needless to say I was so happy to put my open 3.5 back in its unbelivable. Spend the money and get a limited slip rear.
