Yeah, you've definitely got a problem with the alignment. Are there any symptoms of an accident? I would get under the car and triangulate all four wheels and see where you are. Even if it's aligned and tracks straight, it could still be an isosceles trapezoid...

I was wondering, Bleach did you buy a set of the Tokico Struts/Springs from ebay? I'm thinking about doing that with my 280Z. It seems cheaper, but at the same time it's ebay and I'm not sure...

I have not yet, but I planned to buy them from Shox.com instead... you know, because its eBay

Shox got me my ST springs a few years ago very quickly.

L-Dub, I heard recently from some 510 guys that the 280ZX had two different struts. One had more camber than the other and you can tell the difference just by measureing from the rotor to the strut.

Have you heard of this before?
If this is the case, I may just have had one strut replaced before and I need to find another strut with less negative camber to match the other side.

i worry about bottoming out with the tociko shocks and springs.
i bottom out as it is but i dont know if it because the car is sagging on all 4 corners and the suspension is so soft i am not getting any resistance comming down off of a bump and slamming the car on the tops of speed bumps at low speeds, i find not slowing down so much i dont bottom out as often.

what do you guys think, scraping/bottoming out with tociko's more or less than worn out stock suspension?

Good for you. Dr Pepper is better anyway.
If it was beer, you probably would have crawled under the car with no jack stands.

That depends on what you're bottoming out on. High ground, or from the massive suspension compression? the Tokico setup is much more firm so you wont' compress the springs as much when you do hit bumps. Just buy it.

it must be from the massive spring compression because if i go a little faster over speed bumps i dont have a problem
first paycheck i get i'ma buy em, and new mounts and mabe throw in some sway bars and bushings while i am at it.

Min wage? I have no idea. I haven't had to bother knowing that for about 12 years. I'm sure you can look that stuff up online though.

Min wage is about $8.55 now

anyway, I finally ordered the Tokico set. Shocks/struts and springs. Also ordered the Aritaspeed g-nose remake.

I'm hoping to get the suspension taken apart before the springs arrive so I'm ready to bolt it all in the day it gets here.

Also, I've been tracking what I spent on my car. Its hard to believe that I've now spent $2500 in parts on a $2500 car.

I look forward to seeing how your car looks with the G-nose on it. I was seriously considering it should I have stuck with the 280ZX.

Dang I wish I had remembered about you mentioning shox.com before. The Tokico Illumina Shocks/struts and springs set is about $40 cheaper than what I got it. Bushing kit though is the same price. It looks like shox.com even has free shipping on the tokico set as well.

Snwy, search for NISSAN 240Z not Datsun. They have lots of stuff for the S30. Far more than the 280ZX
